Post-O-Meter

I've noticed that over the past year or so, I've been getting more and more blog readers. I'm judging this solely on the rising number of comments you guys are posting.

Thanks.

This worries me, though, because I'm not sure anything I write is worth reading.

In any case, I've narrowed down the potential reasons why more people are reading my blog.

Here they are:

-A growing number of people like me.
-A growing number of people hate me.
-More people have free time, due to unemployment.
-You're still confusing me with Alison Becker, the chef.

I, for one, saw you on "Mayne Street" and thought you were funny and so googled you and found your blog. I like that you write some of your own material (I write too) and am totally jealous that you've worked with/at UCB.

That, and you're kind of cute (for a young 'un).

I've known Ali' (can I call you Ali'?) since her Boiling Point days.

Been a fan ever since!

Your #1 Fan,

Big fan of your latest work on "Mayne Street" I work and how I found your blog. And well of course previous work on Fuse and MTV. But come back to ESPN. I need more Mayne street shoots around the office.

More people like you I'm sure. I've been a fan since Boiling Points, but since Mayne Street I've become a Cyber Stalker. I'm president of the Alison fan club at ESPN

We have 10 members including Kenny himself.

Wait a sec, you're NOT the chef?

So that's why you never post any recipes.

As a fan, I'm sure it's the "like" category. I don't think it's the "hate" category, if only because the people leaving comments use proper grammar. And they use complete sentences. Haters tend not to do either one very well.

Al,
Move this blog to tumblr. Blogspot is terrible.

Most of the comments are from sad, lonely guys living in their parents' basement hoping you'll appreciate their witter banter and offer to sleep with them.

Sorry, someone had to say it ;)

"Most of the comments are from sad, lonely guys living in their parents' basement hoping you'll appreciate their witter banter and offer to sleep with them."

EXACTLY. And, unfortunately, I guess I'm one of them, so I know it's true.

Well, I'm employed, but I've been reading your blog about a year. And you're hot, but frankly, lots of women are hot and being hot doesn't make me more interested in hearing what they have to say, unless by some miracle I was in bed with one, and I'm trying not to doze off while she talks about her cat. But several months ago you posted an entry about a poster in NYC that named George Washington as a famous explorer, and you pointed out that he was a great President and General but not an explorer. This made me realize that you were not just funny but smart, and still not so smart that it made you boring.

Not going to lie Mark...your website is creepy.

I read it because I am trapped in the middle of the Atlantic for a month at a time and don't have anything better to do. It amuses me.

I've been a fan for a while but I stumbled on your blog after you left VH1 Top 20. I kept googling, "Why, why, why would she leave us?!"

Plus you're hilarious and cute as a button.
